Calvin “Hollywood” Jenkins, born August 29th, 1983, is a native of Charleston, SC.
He attended Charleston County schools from elementary through high school and began his first entrepreneurial journey while attending North Charleston High School. In 2003, Hollywood became Head Promoter and Supervisor of a street promotion team under Hype Gospel Music which was led by Leroy Harper.
From this venture, a passion for business and entrepreneurship was birthed and blossomed into an extensive resume that continued throughout the years. In 2001, Hollywood became the Marketing Director for Hollywood Enterprise International, which is a marketing, promotional and booking agency and is still in operation to this day. Through Hollywood Enterprise he has had the privilege to manage and own several nightclubs, lounges and has organized several concerts and festivals. He has not stopped there with his service and innovative ideas to the Charleston area. He has also partnered with others to give back to the community by having partnered with Every 1 Voice Matters winter coat drive and back to school backpack drive. He has also partnered with local and city officials to provide food and other essentials to low-income communities.
Hollywood is currently the successful owner of SOULS Music & Events, Sonic Tax Services (Charlotte, NC), Luxe Cigar Lounge and has been able to become the face for the new era of recreational cigar enjoyment in the Charleston, SC area.
Hollywood currently manages all his businesses and community partnerships by keeping his face in the public from several networking events and mentorship of those wanting to also become successful entrepreneurs. He currently resides in North Charleston, SC and is the proud father of three girls and one son. Hollywood contributes his success to his late Mother, Ms. Dorothy Jenkins, and mentor the late Mr. Carlos Dunlap Sr.
His advice to other entrepreneurs and business owners or those looking to become such, would be to understand that business ownership is not easy, but consistency will bring much success and it will be fun. Everyone decides to become entrepreneurs for many different many reasons, his main reason is being able to manage his own time.
